Darvish of San Diego gets placed on the injured list due to elbow pain

Japanese pitcher Darvish Yu (36), who plays alongside Kim Ha-seong (27) for the San Diego Padres of Major League Baseball, will be out of action for a while due to elbow pain.
Darvish was placed on the 15-day disabled list (IL) on Monday with right elbow inflammation, MLB.com reported.
The IL stint is retroactive to Sept. 27.
Darvish, a right-handed hard-throwing pitcher, has been a bit of a disappointment this season, going 8-10 with a 4.56 ERA.
Notably, his season ERA is his worst since entering the majors, with the exception of a 4.95 mark in 2018, when he was limited to eight starts due to an elbow injury.
His last three starts have been even worse, with three losses and a 7.31 ERA without a win.
Nevertheless, San Diego’s starting rotation will be severely impacted by Darvish’s departure.
The Padres, who have slipped to fourth place in the National League West, are eight games behind the third-place Arizona Diamondbacks in the race for the league’s wild card.
The Dodgers, who have made a number of big-money signings in recent years but have seen the team underperform due to poor investments, signed Darvish to a six-year, $108 million contract in February.
Darvish will be paid through 2028, when he turns 42, 카지노사이트킴 even if he underperforms this season.
