Kwon Soon-woo loses first US Open match in six months

Kwon Soon-woo crashes out in first round of US Open tennis…losing in first match back in six months

South Korean tennis standout Kwon Soon-woo (104th, Dangjin City Hall) lost his first match in six months at the US Open after returning from injury.

The 104th-ranked Korean lost 1-3 (3-6, 4-6, 6-0, 4-6) to 30th-ranked Christopher Eubanks (USA) in the men’s singles first round on the first day of the tournament in New York City, USA, on Monday (Aug. 28).

It was the third time in his career that Kwon failed to reach the second round of the US Open.

Soon-woo Kwon’s previous best result at a major was reaching the third round at the 2021 French Open.

It was Kwon’s first match back on court in six months, as she has been focusing on treatment and rehabilitation since the Qatar ExxonMobil Open on the ATP Tour in February due to a shoulder injury.

Kwon trails Eubanks 1-2 in the head-to-head series.

She was unable to avenge a 2-3 (3-6, 7-6<7-1>, 3-6, 6-4, 4-6) loss in the first round of singles at this year’s Australian Open.

Eubanks will play the winner of the Quentin Alice (No. 70)-Vinjamin Bongi (No. 108-overall France) match in the second round.

Eubanks, a 6-foot-2 power server, has been under the radar at the majors, but broke through at Wimbledon this year, reaching the quarterfinals.

After dropping the first and second sets in straight sets, Kwon broke Eubanks’ first service game in the third set to turn the tide of the match.

Eubanks, who appeared to be suffering from stomach pains, had a shaky shot.

Eubanks double-faulted in her second service game to give up another break point, but Soon-woo Kwon saved the point and took the third set with a 6-0 game score.

In the fourth set, Eubanks, who seemed to be in better shape, took control again.

Eubanks broke Soon-woo Kwon’s second service game to take the lead, and the gap would not close any further.

Kwon Soon-woo’s girlfriend, Yoo Bin of the girl group Wonder Girls, was in the stadium, sitting next to the coaching staff and cheering her on.

Kwon Soon-woo will compete in the group stage of the Davis Cup in Valencia, Spain, 카지노사이트넷 from Dec. 12-17.

She will then compete for a medal at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
