Championship match for the first time in 8 years

Hyundai E&C defeated Heungkuk Life Insurance with a set score of 3-2 (23-25 25-21 21-25 25-17 15-13) in the second round of the professional volleyball 2023-24 Dodram V-League championship match (three wins out of five) held at Suwon Gymnasium on the 30th.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction, which gave up the first and second sets first in the first round on the 28th and won the third, fourth and fifth sets, also showed its potential to turn the game around in the set score 1-2 in the second round.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction, which won both the first and second games at its home turf, will lift the long-awaited championship trophy if it adds one win in the remaining three games.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction won the championship game twice, in the 2010-11 season and 2015-16. Since then, the 2019-20 and 2021-22 seasons have topped the regular league and failed to play the championship game due to the pandemic.

In contrast, Heungkuk Life Insurance, which gave up both the first and second games, is in a difficult situation as it has to win all three remaining games. In the past women’s professional volleyball championship matches, Korea Expressway Corporation was the only team that gave up the first and second games first to win the reverse sweep title with three consecutive wins. Heungkuk Life Insurance was the victim.

Retichia Moma Basoko (registered Moma) and Yang Hyo-jin contributed the most to Hyundai E&C’s victory. Moma scored 34 points on the day, serving as the main striker. Yang Hyo-jin, a native ace, also maintained his position in the center by scoring 19 points and making six blocks. Jeong Ji-yoon and Wi-Fi Si-tong (registered Wi-Fi) also performed their part, scoring 15 points and 12 points, respectively.

On the other hand, Heungkuk Life Insurance fought hard with Kim Yeon-kyung (28 points), Willow Johnson (25 points), and Tokoku Raina (22 points), but as in the first game, physical problems in the second half hampered it.

Heungkuk Life Insurance, which struggled after playing three playoff games with Jeong Kwan-jang, also lost all of its games in vain due to a sharp drop in physical strength from the third set in the first round.

Hyundai E&C gave up the first generation and then brought in the second set to tie the score 1-1. However, Heungkuk Life Insurance gained an advantage by bringing in the third set thanks to Kim Yeon-koung’s hard work.

Hyundai E&C gained strength again in the latter half of the match. It did not miss consecutive errors in the fourth set, and widened the gap to lead the game to the fifth set.

Hyundai E&C laughed in a close game in the fifth set. Hyundai E&C had a narrow lead by banking on its Wi-Fi and MOMA, but MOMA’s rear attack made it to the match point first at the 13-12. Then, with MOMA’s spike hitting Heungkuk Life Insurance’s Kim Soo-ji while the team was trailing 14-13, the long-running battle was over.

Meanwhile, the third round of the championship, which could be the last game, will be held at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon on the 1st of next month. 토토사이트 추천
