BUSAN = Yonhap News Agency (Yonhap) – The ‘2023 WT Yeongdo Triathlon (Triathlon) World Cup’ will be held at Amir Park, the National Maritime Museum, and the Haeasago maritime route in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, from May 5 to 6.The event, which will feature 130 male and female athletes ranked in the top sportstotolink 65 in the world and 800 competitors, is organized by the Yeongdo Triathlon World Cup Organizing Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Busan City, and Yeongdo-gu.The event will be divided into the elite and amateur sprint (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run) and amateur standard distance (1.5km swim, 40km cycle, 10km run) events, and will be broadcast live to more than 140 countries around the world.On May 5, the elite women’s race will take place at 7 a.m. and the elite men’s race at 9 a.m.On the 6th, there will be an elite standard distance race at 6am and an elite sprint race at 9:20am.There will also be a citizen participation concert at 7 p.m. on May 5 at Amir Park to celebrate the success of the Games and the bid for the 2030 Busan World Expo.Ailee, Burning Soda, Soon Soon Hee, Zucchini, and Team H will perform various performances.The city of Busan said it will partially control traffic at the intersection in front of Cafe Piaque, Amir Park, and the entrance to Pusan National University near the competition venue from April 4 to 6.
