Lee So-mi of the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) continued her momentum by ranking second in the second round of the Mizuho Americas Open (total prize money of $3 million).
In the second round of the Mizuho American Open held at Liberty National Golf Club (par 72, 6,675 yards) in Jersey City, New Jersey on the 18th (Korea time), Lee had four birdies and three bogeys, making a 1-under 71. Lee finished tied for second with a 7-under 137 overall. She was the lone lead with 6-under on the first day.
Lee’s best record since debuting on the LPGA tour this year is tied for 13th at the JM Eagle Los Angeles Championship last month. Lee had a chance to participate in this year’s event after other players withdrew.
Lee So-mi failed to reduce the number of pars in the early days of the day, recording birdies on the 13th (par 5) and the 16th (par 4) holes.
Thailand’s Ataya Thitikul (9-under 135) is the lone lead. Lee is chasing Thitikul by just two strokes, which allows her to not only enter the top 10 for the first time in this season but also win the title. Thitikul is the LPGA Rookie of the Year in 2022, and she has not won since winning two titles at the time.
In addition, Ko Jin-young, ranking fifth in the world, tied for 15th (4-under 140) along with Kang Min-ji and Alison Lee. Ji Eun-hee (2-over 146), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), and Daniel Kang (U.S. 5-over 149) failed to make the cut.사설 토토사이트
