KIM SEO-YOUNG AND OTHERS WIN SILVER IN WOMEN’S 400’M MEDLEY RELAY IN KOREAN RECORD TIME

South Korea’s women’s medley relay team struck silver in the final event of the Hangzhou Asian Games swimming programme. Lee Eun-ji (17, Bangsango), Go Haru (14, Gangwon), Kim Seo-young (29, North Gyeongsang Province) and Heo Yeon-kyung (17, Bangsango) swam the backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly and freestyle to finish second in 4:00.13 in the women’s 400m medley relay final at the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022 at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre in Zhejiang Province, China on Monday .The time was a new South Korean record of 4:03.38 set by Lim Da-sol, Baek Su-yeon, Park Ye-lin and Jung So-eun in 2019, a full 3.25 seconds better .The opportunity for South Korea to move up the rankings came after ‘favourites’ China disqualified backstroker Wang Xuel for a false start in the preliminaries. While she was unable to achieve her goal of a first gold medal in the women’s swimming team event, finishing behind Japan in 3:57.67, she tied her previous best result of second place, achieved in Incheon in 2014.In the final event of her final Asian Games, Kim won her fourth medal of the Games (one silver, three bronze) and sixth Asian Games medal of her career (one gold, two silver, three bronze).Kim Seo-young was particularly impressive in the women’s medley relay, where she helped South Korea climb from fourth to third and eventually to second place .Korean women’s backstroker Lee Eun-ji took home five medals (one silver, four bronze) from the event alone .Qualifiers Kim Hye-jin (28-Korea Olympic Committee) in the breaststroke, Park Soo-jin (24-Gyeongbuk Provincial Office) in the butterfly and Jung So-eun (27-Ulsan Metropolitan City Office) in the freestyle also 온라인카지노 received silver medals.
