‘I should have sorted it out last summer’

Tottenham started the 2023-2024 English Premier League (EPL) season unbeaten in 10 games. They won eight, drew two, and had 26 points.

It was their best start since the 1960-1961 season, when they last won the league title. Then they lost two straight. They were outnumbered by nine men and lost 1-4 to Chelsea.

The trip to Wolverhampton was even more shocking. After taking a 1-0 lead, they conceded two late goals in stoppage time. Three points slipped through our fingers.

The 26 points from 12 games is only three more than last season under Antonio Conte. It’s only one point higher than the 2020-2021 season under Jose Mourinho.

Both seasons ended badly. 먹튀검증토토사이트 Both Conte and Mourinho parted ways with Tottenham during the season. Spurs finished seventh in 2020-2021 and eighth last season.

The loss to Wolverhampton was also due to the absence of key players. James Maddison with an ankle injury and Mickey van der Penn with a hamstring (back thigh muscle) injury are not expected to return until the new year.

Cristian Romero and Destiny Udoji are in the ‘red card bin’. Udoji will return next game, but Romero will miss two more matches.

Losing Romero and van der Penne, both pacey center backs, at the same time is irreparable.

Eric Dier and Ben Davies took their places, but protecting them meant that Enze Postecoglou’s attack-minded tactics had to be abandoned.

Tottenham’s Jamie O’Hara took a shot at Dyer after singling him out as a culprit: “Dyer was like ‘no-man’s land’ and made mistakes in both conceded goals,” he told Britain’s TalkSPORT on Wednesday (ET). I don’t know where he’s trying to go,” he said, adding, “Dyer is back at the club. We should have gotten rid of him in the summer. No one wanted him, and he ended up back in the team,” he said angrily.

However, there is no alternative in the current situation. We have to hold on until the winter transfer window in January. Dier is expected to start against Aston Villa on February 26 after the international break.
