Kim Joo-hyung will participate in the PGA Tour’s Shriners Children’s Open at TCP Summerlin in Las Vegas for four days from the 12th (local time).
Kim Joo-hyung failed to play the title defense last July. He won the Wyndham Championship in 2022, but missed the Wyndham Championship this year due to an injury in the d – open. Thanks to this, the Shriners Children’s Open, which won in October last year, became the first title defense.
The PGA Tour ended its 2022-2023 season with the Tour Championship in August. It has switched to a single-year system that opens in January from 2024. However, seven official competitions and three unofficial events will be held until December. It is the so-called autumn series.
Top players do not participate. Among the players participating in the tournament, Kim Joo-hyung’s world ranking is the highest at 16th. The final ranking of the FedEx Cup (tour championship ranking) in the 2022-2023 season is also tied for 20th, followed by Adam Cenck (USA) who is tied for 9th.
The PGA Tour also placed Kim Joo-hyung at No. 2 in the Shriners Children’s Open Power Ranking.
Kim Si-woo will also participate in the Shriners Children’s Open along with the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Kim is ranked 40th in the world, following Kim Joo-hyung and Emiliano Grillo of Argentina.
The PGA Tour ranked Kim Si-woo as the No. 1 power player. The PGA Tour said, “I smiled brightly while winning a gold medal with Lim Sung-jae at the Asian Games. Just started the best season in good health. In TPC Summerlin, it was also good to be tied for 8th place twice and tied for 15th place once,” he explained.
