A group of 50 people decided to start a 4-kilometer walk along Kingsway.

The march was aimed at expressing their position, including the existence of full-fledged gaming facilities that included access to the city’s green infrastructure.

The Sunday walk was organized by Andre Dumais, a local business owner and vice chairman of the city’s committee for sustainable planning and development. Mr Dumais explained that city officials promised to make Sudbury a pedestrian-friendly city, but as they faced the wonderful view of the overflowing vault, they quickly forgot their promise.

During a small tour from the Costco parking lot in Kingsway to where the city’s proposed entertainment complex is scheduled to be located, the group was escorted by local police. According to the founder of the small march, the idea behind the walk is to remind local officials of their commitments. Among those taking part in the big Sunday walk was Kyle Talton. He mentioned that he could not choose this path as a resident of Sudbury and father of his 11-month-old son.

The project’s footprint is inconsistent with the city’s previous commitment to make the area more walkable. According to some locals, gentrification in Sudbury remains in the background and efforts are not being made to improve the city’s walkability and pedestrian-only sidewalks. Experts worry that it has already damaged the health of residents as their lifestyles become more stable by the day.

The Story Behind the Casino Project by Greater Sudbury
In December 2016, the Ontario Lottery and gaming company (OLG) selected British Columbia-based Gateway Casino & Entertainment (“Gateway”) as the company responsible for the day-to-day operations of OLG’s North and Southwest gaming bundles. Earlier this year, Gateway signed a 20-year contract with OLG. Currently, the terms of the contract between the two parties strengthen the power of gambling and take on the modern responsibility of the gateway.

Shortly after the deal closed, Gateway officials announced plans to invest C$60 million in the new Greater Sudbury casino, promising to bring additional wealth to the local economy. 토토사이트
