Tottenham are in a hurry. And Nottingham Forest know it.
Tottenham are looking for a replacement for Harry Kane. As a result, a move for Kane is not out of the question.
Kane has already told Spurs that he wants to go to Bayern Munich. He has spoken to Munich coach Thomas Tuchel at his home in London, and his wife is looking for a house in Munich.
The Bavarians are also trying to persuade Tottenham by upping their transfer fee. Tottenham are holding out for a £100 million ($166 million) transfer fee, but Munich are hoping to sway them with a £90 million ($149.5 million) offer. With one year left on his contract, no team will be able to outbid Munich for Kane.
On the surface, Tottenham are focused on negotiating a deal for Kane. However, they are also looking at a number of strikers in case Kane leaves. Losing Kane, who was the team’s top scorer with 30 goals last season and second in the Premier League, would be a huge blow for Spurs.
One player Tottenham are eyeing is Brennan Johnson, who plays for Nottingham Forest.
The Welsh international is a young player, born in 2001. He can play in any offensive position, from frontline striker to winger to dropped striker.
He has been with Nottingham since his youth days. Aside from a brief loan spell to Lincoln City in 2020-21, he’s been at Nottingham for 13 years.
His speed is reminiscent of Gareth Bale in his prime. He uses his speed to break down defenses left and right and win fouls.
He has long been 사설토토 considered the “future of Wales” within the national team. Two years ago, he was named Young Player of the Year in the second division.
His immediate skill set is lacking, but his potential is one of the best in the league. Besides Tottenham, Brentford and Aston Villa are also interested in signing Johnson.
Nottingham are not unaware of this. They won’t even look at offers below £40 million.
“Nottingham have set a price tag of £40 million for Johnson,” said Football Insider on Sunday. They will only negotiate with teams that offer more than that.”
