‘Divestment speculation overtakes’ KEPCO upset by ’10th anniversary’

KEPCO, which has been embroiled in sale speculation, failed in its quest for its first win.

It was KEPCO’s second straight loss. OK Financial Group celebrated its home opener in front of a full house with a victory, especially since the team had organized various events to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Ahead of today’s game, there was talk of KEPCO selling the team. KEPCO, which is in a financial crisis due to huge debts, included the sale of the volleyball team in its self-rescue plan submitted to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

However, in the second set, they were overwhelmed by OK Financial Group, led by Leo, Chae Hwan, and Bayarsaihan. Aside from the 20-point second set, the third and fourth sets didn’t even reach the 20-point mark.

KEPCO was led by Taith’s 23 points (55.56% attack percentage), Seo Jae-duk’s 17 points (42.86%) and Lim Sung-jin’s 11 points (39.29% attack percentage), but it wasn’t enough to save the day.
