Can an individual score 100 points in an NBA game? James “YES” Durant “NO”…Chamberlain’s 100-point record hasn’t been broken in 62 years

Points per game in the National Basketball Association (NBA) are skyrocketing every year, and so are the records for the most points scored by an individual in a game.

In the last two seasons, four players (Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell, and Damian Lillard) have scored at least 70 points in each of the last two seasons. That’s twice as many players with at least 70 points as in the previous 40 seasons combined.

Wilt Chamberlain holds the NBA record for most points scored by an individual in a single game. He scored 100 points 62 years ago. 토토사이트 That record has yet to be broken.

On June 6, USA Today asked the question, “Is it possible to score 100 points in a single game?”

“Only one NBA player has ever reached the 80-point mark. The late Kobe Bryant scored 81 points against Toronto in 2006,” and asked LeBron James about the possibility of scoring 100 points.

“There’s so much great talent in this league. There are great scorers from every generation, from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, every generation,” James said, adding, “100 points is possible.”

“It’s inevitable that there will be another 100-point game in the NBA,” Bryant said, according to USA Today. It’s going to happen eventually.”

Then-NBA commissioner David Stern also said, shortly before handing the reins over to Adam Silver, “There’s no record in the NBA that won’t be broken. One day, it will be broken.”

“To score 80 points in a game, you need to make 28 to 30 of about 40 field goals, including 7 to 10 3-pointers, and make 15 free throws,” USA Today explained, “and for 100 points, you need to make 35 field goals, including 10 3-pointers, and make 20 free throws.”

Kevin Durant, on the other hand, said scoring 100 points is tough. “If you look at Doncic’s 70-point game, he made tough shot after tough shot after tough shot. I think someone can break Bryant’s 81 points. But 100 points is tough,” he said.

“To get to 100 points, you have to make almost every shot. And you have to make a lot of threes.”

Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers and TNT Inside NBA analyst Charles Barkley were also skeptical.

“To score 90 to 100 points, you’re going to have to have everybody feeding off of one guy. I don’t think that’s going to come naturally,” Rivers said.

Barkley echoed Rivers’ sentiments, saying, “You have to get the ball to one guy every time.”
