‘BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup’, a place of unity and festivity through football, concludes in Daejeon

Daejeon Hana Citizen successfully concluded the ‘BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup’ tournament in Hanoi, Vietnam.

The Daejeon Hana Citizen held its second overseas training camp in Hanoi, Vietnam, from the 10th to the 29th of this month to prepare for the 2024 season. In conjunction with the training camp, Hana Bank and BIDV Bank, Vietnam’s state-owned commercial bank, sponsored the ‘BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup’ tournament from January 22nd (Mon) to 28th (Sun). The tournament was organized to promote bilateral friendship through soccer, and to create a festive venue to unite Hanoians and Vietnamese 토토사이트 people through soccer.

The tournament was held at Hang Dai Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam, with a total of four teams participating, including Viettel FC and Hanoi FC, representing the Vietnamese Professional Football League V-League 1, and Bali United FC, an Indonesian professional soccer team. On the 23rd, the first matches were played between Viettel FC and Hanoi FC, and Daejeon Hana Citizen and Bali United. In the first match, Viettel FC won 4-3 on penalties against Hanoi FC after a 0-0 draw, while Daejeon Hana Citizen got off to a good start with a 1-0 win over Bali United thanks to Kim Seung-dae’s early goal.

On the 27th, the third and fourth place matches between Hanoi FC and Bali United and the final match between Daejeon Hana Citizen and Viettel FC took place. The final match was held at Hang Dai Stadium and was filled with a lot of soccer enthusiasm, including Vietnamese nationals, Hanoi expatriates, and Daejeon Hana Citizen fans who traveled from South Korea to Hanoi to watch the tournament. Daejeon Hana Citizen and Viettel FC responded to the fans’ support with a thrilling match, and also provided fun outside of the match through halftime giveaways.

Daejeon Hana Citizen won the BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup with a 2:1 victory thanks to Leandro’s multi-goal performance. At the post-match ceremony, medals and trophies were awarded to the winners and runners-up, Daejeon Hana Citizen and Viettel FC. In the individual awards, Lee Min-seong won the coach’s award and Leandro won the top goal scorer and tournament MVP awards.

Through the ‘BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup’ tournament, Daejeon Hana Citizen not only provided entertainment for soccer-thirsty K League fans during the off-season, but also created a festive venue for the Hanoi diaspora and the Vietnamese people to unite through soccer. Through this, we opened the door for successful global marketing in the Asian market and set the stage for a leap toward global prominence.

During the tournament, Hana Bank also conducted global social activities for Vietnamese soccer dreamers and children from the Korean-American exchange community, including ▲ soccer clinics with players, ▲ youth programs such as tournament escort kids and flag bearers, ▲ free match viewing opportunities, and ▲ donations to the participating teams and youth soccer development funds.

Starting with the successful hosting of the ‘BIDV Invitational Hana Play Cup’ tournament, Daejeon Hana Citizen will further strive to realize social value through various activities to activate international exchanges with Hana Financial Group and develop sports culture.
