The parking garage, which was originally scheduled to open in July, is connected to the existing casino and entertainment facility by an enclosed climate-controlled walkway. The remaining two levels of the parking garage are expected to open ahead of schedule later this month.

Neilsen. “The garage is one more step towards our goal of providing our guests with the most convenient and dynamic gaming and entertainment experience in the Kansas City area.”
The state-of-the-art parking garage includes a speed ramp designed to facilitate guest convenience by providing direct access to all five parking levels without the need to drive around each level. The garage was designed by Denver-based Walker Parking Consultants, one of the nation’s premiere parking garage designers, and built by Taylor-Kelly, a major general contractor in Kansas City. In addition, approximately 60% of the construction work for the garage was performed by MBE/WBE construction companies.
In June 2000, Ameristar Kansas City committed to the Missouri Gaming Commission that it would invest approximately $20 million to construct a 2,200 space parking garage commencing no later than June 2003. With the completion of the garage in June 2002 at a cost of approximately $23 million, Ameristar will have satisfied this commitment more than a year in advance and constructed 460 more spaces than required.
