Ahn Kwon-soo off the disabled list, finally leaving Lotte

Outfielder Ahn Kwon-soo (30), who played for the Lotte Giants in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), will eventually leave the organization.Lotte announced on Nov. 26 that it has removed Ahn Kwon-soo from its roster for the 2024 season.Ahn, a third-generation Korean-American, joined the Doosan Bears in 2020 and was known for his quick feet and gritty play before leaving due to military service. He was released by Doosan because he was required to complete his military service in South Korea to continue playing in the KBO, so he donned a Lotte jersey for the upcoming season.Ahn Kwon-soo was a fan favorite at the start of the season as the starting outfielder, but was sidelined with elbow pain and returned in the second half of the season.Ahn finished the 2023 season with a .269 batting average, 72 hits, two home runs, 29 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases.Lotte and Ahn Kwon-soo explored various options to continue their relationship, but were forced to accept the reality of Ahn’s military service in South Korea.Lotte also removed right-handed pitcher Moon Sung-chan (31) and outfielder Park Hyung-joon (22) from the disabled list.

Moon was once one of the league’s top bullpen arms, going 1-2 with a 1.31 ERA in 2019 with the KIA Tigers. After joining the NC Dinos via trade, Moon joined Lotte as compensation for free agent Son Ah-seop ahead of the 2022 season. In 2022, his first year with Lotte, he went 1-2 with a 5.80 ERA in 38 games, and this year he has struggled, going 1-1 with a 27.00 ERA in just two appearances with the first team. After giving up an extra-inning home run to Doosan Jose Rojas in the opener on April 1, he was promptly removed from the first team and returned to the first team at the end of the season, but failed to impressPark, who was highly touted as a power hitter, joined the SK Wyverns (now SSG Landers) in 2021 before being released and donning a Lotte uniform this year. With Lotte, he struck out in just one at-bat with the first team, but in the Futures League, he hit .250 with two home runs and 13 RBIs.Lotte also removed developmental right-handed 온라인카지노 pitcher Jung Dae-hyuk (24) and outfielder Uhm Tae-ho (22) from the disabled list.
