The owner of the fifth place ticket in baseball this fall will not be known until the last minute.
The kt wiz and SSG Landers, who will be battling for fifth place until the end of the season, defeated the Kiwoom Heroes and Hanwha Eagles, respectively, in the 2024 Shinhan SOL Bank KBO League on Monday.
KT, which finished with 72 wins, 70 losses and two draws in 144 games this season, has at least secured fifth place.
SSG, on the other hand, with 71 wins, 70 losses and two draws, needs to win its final game against Kiwoom in Incheon on Tuesday to tie for fifth place with KT.
If KT and SSG finish tied for fifth, they will play a single-elimination game on Oct. 1 at Suwon Stadium to decide the fifth place.
However, if SSG loses the final game against Kiwoom, KT will finish fifth alone and will play the fourth-place Doosan Bears for the wild card on Sept. 2.
On the day, KT was in a dark spot early in the game, falling behind 1-6.
However, in the bottom of the fourth inning, the team scored five runs on five hits, including a two-run double by Choi Jae-dae, to tie the game at 6-6.
In the bottom of the fifth, Oh Jae-il’s RBI single made it 7-6, and KT scored a run in the bottom of the sixth on Kim Min-hyuk’s RBI single.
In the bottom of the seventh, back-to-back doubles by Kang Baek-ho and Oh Jae-il and an RBI single by Choi Jae-dae scored two more runs for a thrilling 10-7 victory.
KT’s Ko Young-pyo, who made a surprise relief appearance in the top of the fourth inning, pitched five innings of one-hit ball to save the day.
In Daejeon, SSG pounded out 12 hits in a 6-2 victory.
Hanwha opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with a two-run double by Moon Hyun-bin.

In the top of the fourth, Oh Tae-gon doubled and Lee Ji-young singled to center to make it 3-2, and SSG added a run in the top of the seventh on Jung Jun-jae’s RBI double to make it 4-2.
In the top of the eighth, Park Sung-han and Jeong Jun-jae tacked on two more runs with RBI singles to tie the game.
SSG starter Kim Kwang-hyun pitched five and a third innings with three hits and two runs allowed to reach 170 wins (98 losses) for the third time in his career.
In Busan, the KIA Tigers defeated the Lotte Giants 12-8 in a nail-biter.
Lotte foreign-born Victor Reyes went 1-for-5 in the loss, becoming just the second player in history to reach the 200-hit plateau in a single season.
Reyes, who will play his final game against the NC Dinos next month, will attempt to break the KBO single-season record of 201 hits set by Seo Gun-chang (now with the KIA Tigers) in 2014.
KIA’s Kim Do-young, who has 38 home runs and 40 stolen bases, failed to add a home run to his tally with only two infield hits.
Kim will go to bat in the NC and final game on the 30th, aiming to become the first Korean player to hit 40 home runs and 40 doubles.
In Daegu, where the No. 2 and No. 3 teams faced off, Moon Bo-kyung hit back-to-back home runs to lead the LG Twins to an 11-4 victory over the Samsung Lions.
LG’s Moon, batting fourth, went 4-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs.
Samsung’s offense was paced by Park Byung-ho and Lee Sung-kyu, who each hit a home run.
Third-place LG, which finished the season with 76 wins, 66 losses and two ties, will begin preparations for the first round of the semifinals next month on May 5.
Second-place Samsung, which finished with 78 wins, 64 losses and two draws, will look to advance to the Korean Series in the playoffs that begin Oct. 13.
In Changwon, the Doosan Bears defeated the NC Dinos 4-3.
Doosan scored the game-winning run in the top of the ninth inning with the score tied 3-3 when Ryu Hyun-joon singled to left field.
Catcher Kim Jae-hwan hit his 29th home run of the season in the top of the third inning.
Fourth-place Doosan, which finished the regular season with 74 wins, 68 losses and two ties, will face either KT or SSG in the first game of the wild-card deciding series next month.
Meanwhile, five stadiums were sold out on the day, the last time all 10 teams played this season, bringing the total number of sold-out games this season to 217. 카지노 사이트 추천
