Shin Yubin wins second WTT Lima titles.

Shin Yubin (No. 9-Korean Air) won the women’s singles and doubles titles at the World Table Tennis (WTT) Contender Lima 2023.

Shin defeated 16th-ranked Bernadette Sötz (Romania) 4-1 (9-11, 11-9, 11-9, 11-8, 11-7) in the women’s singles final on the final day of the tournament in Lima, Peru.

This is Shin’s second WTT singles title of the year.

After winning the first women’s doubles silver medal for South Korea in 36 years with Jeon Ji-hee (Mirae Asset Securities) at the 2023 World Table Tennis Championships in May, Shin has been on a roll, winning both the singles and doubles titles at the Contender Lagos shortly thereafter.

She also won the Contender Nova Gorica last November, bringing her total WTT singles titles to three.

On the day, Shin dropped the first game to Sötz, who was playing against her for the first time, but dominated in the second game after adjusting to the surface.

He never let up and won four games in a row to complete the upset.

Sötz is a star with many male fans due to her gorgeous appearance.

Shin also won the women’s doubles (No. 1), partnering with Jeon Jeon-hee to defeat the unranked pair of Kim Na-young (POSCO International)-Choi Hyo-joo (Korea Horse Racing Association) 3-2 (11-9, 9-11, 8-11, 13-11, 12-10).

Shin Yubin-Jeon Hee have won three WTT titles this year. They previously won the Contender Lagos and Contender Zagreb.

The South Koreans will next travel to Brazil to compete at the Contender Rio 2023.
