David Chow, Co-Chair, Executive Director, and CEO, said, “Both the central government and the Macau SAR government have emphasized the importance of Macau promoting economic diversification and accelerating the development of leisure tourism, convention, and exhibition businesses. Harborview Hotel and the Macau Fishermen’s Pier Redevelopment Project are making positive contributions in this direction.
Mr Chow said: “This would not be possible without the contribution of many people, especially the support of our dedicated group of staff, respected partners, and the Macau government. We are all very happy to open up to Macau and the world and show you the coast of the Macau Peninsula.”
Chow said, “In 2014, there were about 31.5 million visitors to Macau, up 7.5% from the previous year, and mainland China visitors rose 14% to over 21.2 million. I believe there will be continued demand for quality hotel accommodation and leisure tourism services that are added annually to the Macau Fishermen’s Quay Redevelopment Project. Expect hotel portfolio to expand as new hotel first opens at Macau Fishermen’s Quay
It will increase revenue contributions to the company and economic benefits of scale. Overall, we are confident about the mid- to long-term prospects for Macau.”
