KOREAN MENS WHEELCHAIR BASKETBALL WINS THIRD STRAIGHT ASIAN GAMES QUALIFYING MATCH ON A HIGH NOTE

The South Korean men’s wheelchair basketball team has won three straight games before the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou 2022 ParaAsia Games. The team, led by Ko Kwang-yup, 51, defeated Malaysia 63-29 in their third wheelchair basketball Group B game at the Hangzhou Olympic Center Gymnasium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China, on Wednesday. South Korea defeated Chinese Taipei 67-21 in the first round on Sept. 19, and then beat powerhouse Japan, which finished second at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, 52-38 on Sept. 20. The win on the 21st extended their winning streak to three games. The Hangzhou ParaAsian Games begin on Feb. 22, but wheelchair basketball held its preliminary round on Feb. 19.
