“I’m wearing clothes that don’t suit me, the players are not confident.”

Kimpo FC coach Ko Jung-woon, who became Seongnam FC’s ‘first win’, spoke in a strong tone.

At an away match against Seongnam FC in the fourth round of the “Hana Bank K League 2 2024” held at Tancheon Stadium on Tuesday, Ko lost 1-2. Kimpo, which had one win, one draw and one loss (three points), was pushed to the bottom by Seongnam FC (four points).

Kim gave Huizu the first goal from a penalty kick in the 29th minute of the first half, but Kim Kyung-joon scored an equalizer 40 seconds into the second half. However, he lost the game as his defense lost concentration during extra time in the second half, allowing substitute agent Park Ji-won to score the final goal.

“Many fans came to the expedition. I’m sorry,” Koh said right after the game. “I think I’m dressed in clothes that don’t fit well with both the mercenary and the front and back defense lines. I think we need time.”

Having advanced to the playoff stages last year, Gimpo underwent a major change in its squad this season. Last year, its flagship player left after receiving a love call from another team. “I think we have to play four to five more games to get the best result,” Koh said before the game.

“Today’s game is one of my best soccer players, but I can see that they are not confident,” he said. “I don’t think I am used to it as a habit in my old team. The players are not confident and passive. They are physically weak. We need to make up for that.”

“He is a player who will elevate the points in the offense team,” he said of Flana, who played as a substitute in the second half of the day. “He needs to step up quickly. During off-season training, the three (foreign) players rarely played together. We don’t have good teamwork. We need time.”
