Harding, who took the helm of Stockton in June last year, has recorded 24 wins and 10 losses in the regular league this season, putting his team first.
This is the first time that a female leader has received the NBA G League Coach of the Year Award, which was first established in the 2006-2007 season.
The G League Coach of the Year Award is decided by voting from fellow coaches and team leaders.
Harding was the No. 1 player in the 2007 WNBA Rookie Draft and served as a coach for the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings.
Harding was the second female coach in the G League since Nancy Lieberman of the Texas Legends in the 2010-2011 season.
Stockton, the lower league team of the NBA’s Sacramento, made headlines by appointing both female general manager and female manager for the first time in the history of the G League, including Harding and Angeli Ranadive, ahead of this season.
